OK, so earlier today we showed you some paparazzi shots of AnnaSophia Robb, who plays the young Carrie Bradshaw in the CW’s new Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries. Her hair was crimped ’80s style and all but she was wearing the requisite “I’m filming but not on camera” Uggs and hoodie. Now Warner Brother’s has just released the first real official photo of Robb as young Carrie.
“When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her,” writer/executive producer Amy B. Harris said in a release. “The fact that she loves a gorgeous pair of heels doesn’t hurt either,” she added. Of dressing the young Carrie Bradshaw, costume designer Eric Daman said, “It’s a rare invitation to dress a character whose reputation truly precedes her. Having played a hand in designing for the Carrie we know and love, I am honored to be chosen to carry the torch — to illuminate the woman we know by discovering the young lady she was.”

Robb was also photographed on set of the new series a few days ago in New York City. The hoodie and Uggs are not likely part of her Carrie costume (we hope?) but the denim skirt/dress peeking out from underneath could definitely work for an 80s-era young Carrie. And that crimped hair? Yeah, that’s the ’80s we were looking for.
An inside source also tells us the series will be filming Sunday in the financial district, and that Carrie’s fictional Castlebury, Connecticut home is actually being shot at a house in Queens, just east of Laguardia airport.
